"Psychotherapy is a living personal relationship." Harry Guntrip

Welcome to our psychotherapy practice, where we prioritize the unique individuality of every person who seeks our help. Our philosophy is grounded in the understanding that psychotherapeutic success relies not on theory or stereotyped techniques, but on the therapist's ability to intuitively and accurately understand the particular patient.

Richard Bloom, our seasoned therapist, has been creating a safe environment for individuals to deal with depression, anxiety, grief, anger, and recovery from addictions for over 50 years. He has a profound understanding of the injuries of childhood abuse and neglect and guides people towards reclaiming their wholeness.

Richard began his career as a drug and alcohol counselor and has since earned a master's degree in 1982 with a thesis on relationship counseling. He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been instrumental in teaching at Sonoma State University and California State University, Hayward in their Chemical Dependency Counseling Certificate programs.

In recent years, Richard has gained a reputation for his effective psychotherapy for depression and anxiety. He is also known for his work with couples dealing with conflict and change, and his profound understanding of men's issues, including psychotherapy and friendship.
