At Gada Therapy, we believe that every individual has the potential to live a fuller, more authentic, and more ease-filled life. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed/Board Certified Art Therapist, I, Jessica Gada (she/her/hers), have dedicated my career to guiding adults through transformative processes as they navigate the complexities of career, academic, and relationship decisions. With offices in Maryland and Virginia, I specialize in therapy services for individuals, couples, and groups, offering a range of evidence-based treatments to support your mental health and well-being.
Therapy Services
Our therapy services are designed to help you heal from past traumas, overcome present-day challenges, and unlock your full potential. With a trauma-informed approach, we collaborate to understand your unique background and belief systems in a safe, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and culturally sensitive environment. Our comprehensive services include:
- Individual Therapy: Work one-on-one with me to address depression, anxiety, grief, and other mental health concerns. Together, we'll empower you to let go of negative self-talk, trust yourself and others, and build meaningful relationships.
- Group Therapy: Join a supportive community of like-minded individuals as we explore coping skills, mind-body awareness, self-expression, and distress tolerance. Our group therapy sessions provide a safe space to connect with others who may be going through similar experiences.
- Specialized Services: I provide individual and group therapy to service members, veterans, retirees, and their families, offering evidence-based treatments for combat and interpersonal stress, such as EMDR and Imagery Rehearsal Therapy for chronic nightmares.
My Approach
As a therapist, I am informed by attachment theory, trauma-informed care, psychodynamic work, mindfulness, and research-based approaches. In our sessions, you can expect a 50-minute exploration of your experiences, incorporating experiential treatment components, and closing activities to summarize our progress. I also draw upon EMDR, HeartMath, Art Therapy, expressive and therapeutic writing, Energy Psychology, coaching strategies, mindfulness, and mind-body connection approaches.
Art Therapy
Please know that you don't need an artistic background to benefit from art therapy. In fact, most clients haven't touched an art material in years, or even decades! Our art-making process unlocks new areas for growth, healing, and expansion. Yes, art is a tool for communication, insight, integration, and relaxation - regardless of skill level.
Consultations and Qualifications
As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed/Board Certified Art Therapist, I have been fortunate to witness breathtaking growth and resilience in my clinical practice across various settings in the DC Metro region over the last decade. I am always committed to staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in the field.
