Empowering individuals to find their own voices
Our Philosophy and Approach
At Grove Psychotherapy, we believe that symptoms in people are a result of the complex interplay between nature and environment. Our philosophy is grounded in the understanding that human beings are wired to be responsive and interactive. We take a holistic approach to treatment, acknowledging that each individual's experiences and circumstances are unique and multifaceted.
Our History
Grove Psychotherapy has its roots in the women-led mental health collective, Sagaris, established in 1974. This innovative group of women therapists sought to challenge the dominant approaches to women's health and support the empowerment of individuals. As Sagaris evolved, we refined our approach to focus on the intersectionality of personal, family, and environmental dynamics. Our commitment to equality, research, and treatment has guided our path for over four decades.
Our Services
At Grove Psychotherapy, we offer a range of services designed to support individuals in their quest for personal authenticity and relief from the struggles of life. Our licensed psychotherapist, Linda C. Nelson, provides individual and relational therapy for adults, addressing a variety of diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. Our expert therapist tailors her approach to each client's unique needs, incorporating a range of theories and techniques, including psychodynamic, family-systems, and competency-based methods.
Specialty Services
Linda C. Nelson is also trained in mind-body skills, drawn from the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, Washington D.C. Her workshops and classes focus on breathing and relaxation techniques, meditation, mindfulness, and guided imagery to help clients develop tools for managing stress, increasing self-awareness, and improving emotional and physical well-being.
Fees
Our fees for a 45-minute session are $150, and we will happily assist with insurance billing for you.
