Julie Armstrong, Psy. D

Dr. Julie A. Armstrong is a renowned Psychologist and Clinical Nurse Specialist (Psychiatric/Mental Health) with over 30 years of experience. She is licensed to practice in California (Psy 16001) and Arizona (Psy 4952). Dr. Armstrong's expertise spans across psychological evaluations, expert witness services, and consulting on a wide range of med-legal issues, including Trauma, Psychology issues, and Nursing standards.

Her extensive career began in Nursing in 1984 as a Registered Nurse, working on an inpatient psychiatry unit for nearly 13 years. During this time, she completed her Master's degree in Nursing from UCLA, specializing in psychiatry/mental health nursing. In 1990, she became one of California's first Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS 004).

After completing her Doctorate in Psychology from Pepperdine University, Dr. Armstrong became a Licensed Psychologist in 1998. Her practice initially focused on psychodynamic ("talk") therapy and the influences of the unconscious on an individual's behavior and interactions. Later, she shifted her practice to evaluation and assessment exclusively.

Dr. Armstrong is a respected speaker and educator, providing continuing education for psychologists and QME doctors. She is available to speak on a wide variety of medical-legal issues related to psychology evaluations. Her expertise has been sought in Deposition, Court, and Administrative hearings, and she has testified numerous times. Additionally, she offers mentoring and consultation to other clinicians new at providing Expert Witness testimony.
