Our Mission and History
Correctional Psychology Associates (CPA) has been dedicated to serving the community and our criminal justice clients through effective assessment, treatment, and training since 1998. Our mission is rooted in the core values of evidence-based treatment, effective communication, and collaboration between clients, supervising staff, and treatment providers. We believe that every individual deserves access to comprehensive mental health services, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Our Treatment Approach
At CPA, we understand that each client is unique and requires a tailored approach to address their individual needs. Our treatment strategy is grounded in the "what works" literature, which focuses on targeting risk, need, and responsivity (RNR) issues in treatment for individuals involved in the criminal justice system. We utilize a range of assessment tools and clinical interviews to determine each client's primary criminogenic need, risk level, and responsivity to treatment. This comprehensive approach enables our forensic therapists to develop focused treatment goals that will have the largest impact on reducing the client's risk of recidivism.
