The future depends on what you do in the present

At Dr. Ann Heyen's Clinical Psychology practice, we understand that life can be unpredictable and overwhelming at times. We believe that everyone deserves a supportive and non-judgmental space to work through their challenges. As a licensed clinical psychologist with over 23 years of experience, I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, families, and groups navigate life's difficulties and find their path forward.

About Therapy

Therapy is a safe and confidential space where you can explore your concerns and work towards positive change. We recognize that everyone experiences unavoidable and painful challenges in life, and we are here to help you find ways to cope and move forward. Whether you are struggling with relationships, work, family, health, or other impacts on your quality of life, we are committed to supporting you every step of the way.

My Approach

As a therapist, I take a collaborative approach to therapy, working with clients to develop a personalized plan to meet their unique needs. My approach draws on acceptance/mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused therapies, as well as training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy. I focus on present-day concerns rather than past issues, and I encourage clients to take an active role in their therapy by practicing exercises and providing feedback.

What to Expect in the Initial Appointment

During our initial appointment, we will explore your present-day concerns and work together to understand their impact on your life. We will discuss how long you have been experiencing these problems and how you have tried to cope with or resolve them. We will also explore what you hope to get out of therapy and clarify your direction. If it doesn't feel like a good fit, we can discuss alternative avenues for treatment.

MY BACKGROUND

As a licensed clinical psychologist, I have practiced psychotherapy in Oregon for over 23 years. I provide services to young adults 18+, adults, and seniors, including individuals from all ethnic and religious backgrounds and the LGBT+ community. I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their concerns and work towards positive change.

SERVICES

I offer individual, couples, and group therapy sessions to address a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, relationships, work, family, and health concerns. I am currently conducting all sessions online through a secure, confidential HIPAA-compliant platform.
