Explore Your Inner Wilderness, Discover Your True Self
At Embodied Psychotherapy Portland, we take a unique and holistic approach to individual and couples therapy. Our practice is built on the principles of Mindfulness, Buddhist Psychology, Gestalt Therapy, and Relational Life Therapy (RLT). We understand that our emotional, intellectual, and physical lives are intertwined, and by bringing awareness to the present moment, we can uncover our capacity to bravely open to the fullness of our experience and create change from a place of wisdom and compassion.
Our team consists of licensed clinical psychologist Banjo Weymouth, who has a passion for the outdoors and adventure, and licensed clinical social worker Kerry Weymouth, who has a background in social justice and spirituality. Both Banjo and Kerry have extensive experience in their respective fields and have developed a deep understanding of the human experience. They work together to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals and couples to explore their challenges and grow.
Our Approach
At Embodied Psychotherapy Portland, we believe that the present moment holds the power to transform our lives. Our therapists work with clients to develop resilience, emotional flexibility, and a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. We support clients in exploring the careful balance between acceptance and change, and we challenge them to examine and move beyond rigid, habitual beliefs or behaviors.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy provides a vital space for identifying, understanding, and transforming our suffering. Our challenges can often provide a gateway to deeper growth, understanding, and insight. Therapy offers an opportunity to deepen awareness into our habitual thought patterns and behaviors that limit our capacity for openness, resilience, and kindness for ourselves and others.
Couples Therapy
Intimate relationships have the potential to be profound vehicles for personal growth and spiritual change. Our therapists, Kerry and Banjo, work from the Relational Life Therapy (RLT) model, as taught by Terry Real. We believe that by being in relationship with ourselves and others in a way that is accountable, empathetic, and vulnerable, we are able to flourish as partners, parents, and professionals. Our therapists are certified in RLT and have extensive experience in working with couples.
