Nancy's expertise stems from her extensive education and experience. She holds a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology and an Educational Specialist Degree in School Psychology from Chapman University, paired with a Bachelor of Science in Child and Adolescent Development from California State University, Fullerton. Her journey as a School Psychologist began in 2011, followed by the establishment of her private practice in 2014. Throughout her career, Nancy has worked with a diverse student population across various grade levels and settings, including preschool, elementary, intermediate, high school, and young adults in both public and private schools. Her multilingual abilities, encompassing English, Vietnamese, and Chinese, allow her to effectively serve a broader spectrum of families.
Nancy's experiences have equipped her to address a wide range of learning and behavioral challenges. She has extensive experience working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disability, Developmental Delays, Multiple Disabilities, and Mental Disorders such as Anxiety and Depression.
Commitment to Comprehensive Support
As a trusted member of both the Huntington Beach City School District and the Norwalk La Mirada Unified School District, Nancy has conducted numerous comprehensive psycho-educational assessments, functional behavior assessments, and suicidal/threat assessments. She strives to create individualized plans tailored to each student's unique needs. Her expertise extends to developing and implementing academic and behavioral interventions, crafting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and developing Section 504 plans for students requiring special accommodations.
Prior to dedicating herself fully to School Psychology, Nancy honed her skills as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist, working with children on the Autism spectrum, and as a Cognitive Trainer, guiding children in enhancing their cognitive abilities through personalized instruction. Her volunteer work with the Child Life Specialist department at Long Beach Miller Children's Hospital further demonstrated her commitment to supporting children and families facing medical challenges.
