Welcome to our psychotherapy practice in downtown Seattle. We are dedicated to helping individuals who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or at a crossroads find their way to a greater sense of possibilities, freedom, and ease. Our approach is based on mindfulness and is designed to assist you in expanding your awareness and understanding of how you are making sense of and experiencing life.
What to Expect
Our initial session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and for you to share what is prompting you to seek therapy. This is a chance for you to ask questions and for us to determine if our approach to psychotherapy is a good fit for you. In subsequent sessions, we will focus on your present experience and explore how your past may be influencing your current choices. We will ask questions such as "What is happening?" "How are you reacting to it?" and "What are the beliefs and feelings that shape your reaction?" to assist you in expanding your awareness and developing a greater capacity for mindfulness in your daily life.
My Approach
Our work as therapists is informed primarily by Existential and Buddhist psychologies. These perspectives focus on the human experience of being in the world and the role of the mind in creating that experience. Both Buddhism and Existentialism emphasize the impermanence of life and the importance of understanding and navigating the ebb and flow of life. We believe that out of self-awareness comes a greater sense of possibilities, which is the basis for growth and change.
Fees and Appointments
Our fees are competitive and we offer a sliding scale for those who need it. We accept a variety of insurance plans and can provide you with the necessary documentation for reimbursement. We offer appointments during the day, in the evening, and on weekends to accommodate your schedule.
