Find your purpose and authenticity through holistic psychotherapy.
I am Laura Mohaupt, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a deep passion for helping individuals and couples navigate life's complexities and achieve greater well-being. My approach to therapy is grounded in a holistic philosophy, recognizing that each person is a unique tapestry interwoven with body, mind, and spirit.
My overarching goal is to empower my clients by fostering a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where they can explore their inner landscape, uncover their strengths, and cultivate authentic connections. I believe in the inherent resilience within each individual and strive to guide them toward a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their place in the world.
My Therapeutic Approach: Embracing the Whole Person
"Holistic" therapy to me implies a commitment to treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. I strive to integrate all aspects of your being - your physical sensations, your thoughts and emotions, and your spiritual yearnings - into the therapeutic process. I utilize experiential techniques such as guided imagery, mindfulness exercises, and parts work to help you connect with your inner wisdom and cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness.
My practice is influenced by Gestalt therapy and humanistic orientations, emphasizing present moment awareness, responsibility, and personal growth. I also incorporate EMDR, a powerful technique originally developed for trauma and PTSD, but which can be effective for a variety of issues. For couples, I draw from AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and Dan Wile's Collaborative Couples Training, approaches that prioritize emotional connection, vulnerability, and mutual understanding.
